Harvest

Harvesting took place from September 9 to September 28.

Wine profile

This century-old vineyard extends over a single 30-hectare plot dominating the slopes of the Pomerol plateau. Its south-western exposure gives the wine a pronounced intensity of aroma. Nenin's aromatic bouquet and expression is as complex as its soil composition. Beneath its soils of gravel, clay and ancient sand, there is a great diversity of soils, including siliceous clay, quartz, granite, basalt pebbles and iron deposits.

Indeed, Bettane & Desseauve highlights that Château Nenin is “constantly improving its structural and aromatic precision, and is now in the league of the greatest”.

Détails chateau NENIN

History and anecdotes

The history of Château Nénin goes back several centuries. It was owned by the Demay family in the 18th century, then by the Paillet family in the 19th century and finally by the Despujol family through marriage until 1997. At that time, Michel Delon (also owner of Château Léoville Las Cases) bought the estate from his cousins and undertook important works to develop the vineyard and the installations.

Château Nénin is a very large property in the Pomerol appellation with 32 hectares of vines.
