En primeurs 2023

Vintage 2023

“Each vintage of Château Angélus possesses its uniqueness and reveals a new facet of the great terroirs from which our wines originate. Vintage 2023 continues the stylistic evolution initiated since 2016. We continue to push the boundaries of excellence and quality with subtle touches, aiming for more elegance, finesse, and precision, balancing the power of our wines.” - Chateau Angelus

Wine Profile

“The color is bright, violet, and particularly intense.

The aromas and typicality of this vintage have been preserved from harvest to bottling, and the first nose, bursting with flowers and black fruits, becomes more complex and expansive with aeration, with notes of graphite and subtly mentholated nuances.

The palate, with a frank and energetic attack, is articulated on a spicy frame of Cabernet Franc, with superbly integrated wood, discreetly present in support of an already great wine, and extends long, carried by a freshness, an acidity, and airy tannins that characterize this vintage full of tension and great elegance.” - Chateau Angelus

Détails chateau ANGELUS

History and anecdotes For eight generations, the Château has been owned by the de Boüard de Laforest family. The Angelus vineyard is located in the heart of a natural amphitheater, dominated by the three churches of Saint-Emilion. In this privileged site, sounds amplify, and in the past, one could hear the bells ringing the Angelus in the morning, at noon, and in the evening. In 2012, the Château was classified as a Premier Grand Cru Classé A in the Saint Emilion Classification. Today, Stéphanie de Boüard - Rivoal leads the estate.
