En primeurs 2024

2024 Vintage Vision
« 2024 will be remembered by winegrowers as a vintage where nature and its challenges gave no respite, from the first bud to the last harvested grape. » - Domaines Delon

2024 Vintage
The 2024 vintage was a challenging one, requiring constant attention. Expertise, guided by intuition and feeling, shaped the technical decisions to harvest grape berries at their ideal ripeness. The Merlots are lively and flavorful, and the Cabernets possess a rare elegance, rewarding the meticulous work across the terroirs of Médoc, Saint-Julien, and Pomerol.

Harvest
The harvest began on September 18 and ended on October 2.

Aging
The wine was aged in 40% new French oak barrels for 16 months.

Wine Profile
The yield was 35 hl/ha, producing a concentrated, high-quality wine. 5.3% of press wine was used in the blend.

« Wines born under the seal of adversity, sculpted by the demanding and expert precision of mankind, teaching us that even through trials and hardship, great terroirs always deliver their most priceless treasures when accompanied with passion and mastery. » - Domaines Delon

History and anecdotes

The history of Château Nénin goes back several centuries. It was owned by the Demay family in the 18th century, then by the Paillet family in the 19th century and finally by the Despujol family through marriage until 1997. At that time, Michel Delon (also owner of Château Léoville Las Cases) bought the estate from his cousins and undertook important works to develop the vineyard and the installations.

Château Nénin is a very large property in the Pomerol appellation with 32 hectares of vines.
