CHAPELLE D'AUSONE, 2024

PRIMEURS - LIVRAISON 2027

"This is unique for the second wine of Ausone with no merlot this year. Medium-bodied, it builds on the palate, showing a volcanic-salt undertone and white-pepper character. Lightly chewy with some red tile. Spicy. A blend of 85% cabernet franc and 15% cabernet sauvignon." - James Suckling

Histoire et anecdotes

Chapelle d'Ausone is the second wine of Château Ausone, located in Saint-Emilion, Grand Cru. Château Ausone has been owned by the Vauthier family since the late 1990s. The history of the estate is very old, dating back to the 13th century, with only five families having managed the estate over the years. Château Ausone takes its name from an iconic figure of Roman antiquity, Decimus Magnus Ausonius, a political advisor and professor.
