En primeurs 2024

Vintage 2024, “The Unpredictable”
“After working alongside his father for five years, Hubert de Boüard de Laforest marks his 40th vintage in 2024—an important milestone that his daughter, Stéphanie de Boüard-Rivoal, wished to recognize and honor.
Named ‘The Unpredictable,’ this vintage embodies the taste of adversity and challenge—two powerful forces that have always allowed Angélus to produce truly great wines.” – Château Angélus

Viticulture
Winter and part of spring were wetter than average. The old saying “August makes the must” proved true once again: the sunny weather in July and August helped the grapes ripen.

Harvest
Harvesting took place under uncertain skies, but still allowed for good yields and excellent grape quality.

Wine Profile
Château Angélus says:
“The robe is dense and violet. The nose is floral at first, then develops with notes of red and dark berries. The palate is juicy and flavorful, with long-lasting structure carried by perfectly ripe Merlot tannins.”

History and anecdotes

Carillon d'Angélus is the second wine of Château Angélus, born with the 1987 vintage.

For eight generations, the Château has been owned by the de Boüard de Laforest family. The vineyard of Angelus is located in the heart of a natural amphitheater, dominated by the three churches of Saint-Emilion. In the heart of this privileged site, the sounds are amplified and one could once hear the bells ringing the angelus in the morning, at noon and in the evening. In 2012 the Château was classified as a Premier Grand Cru classé A in the Saint Emilion Classification. Today Stéphanie de Boüard - Rivoal manages the estate.
