CHATEAU FIGEAC, 2024

En primeurs 2024
Vintage 2024, “A challenge met with mastery and perseverance”
“Vintage 2024 embodies Château-Figeac’s adaptability and high standards in the face of climatic adversity. More than a simple technical achievement, this elegant and profoundly expressive wine is a testament to the passion and exacting nature that drives a dedicated team.” – Château-Figeac
Viticulture
Weather conditions were particularly testing for the teams. Rainfall far exceeded seasonal averages, requiring increased vigilance in the vineyard to preserve quality. Budburst was uniform starting from March 20. Flowering experienced some irregularities, beginning around May 25. Veraison began slowly from July 25, but the milder weather of July and August allowed for full ripening.
Harvest
Yields were relatively low, reaching 31 hl/ha, in order to preserve the identity and quality of the wine.
Equipped with density sorting baths and advanced optical sorting, the selection process was one of the most rigorous in the estate’s history, with up to 21% of the harvest discarded.
Vinification
Following a cold soak, each plot was vinified separately with gentle extraction. Maceration lasted 3 to 4 weeks, and malolactic fermentation proceeded perfectly.
Blending
The 2024 vintage prominently features Cabernet Sauvignon. Three hours, split into 10 sessions, were needed to perfect the blend for this distinctive vintage.
Wine Profile
“This 2024 vintage from Château-Figeac stands out for its remarkable freshness. Controlled concentration and highly precise fruit expression. Each grape variety finds its place, with Cabernet Sauvignon taking center stage in this year's blend.” – Château-Figeac

Details chateau FIGEAC
History and anecdotes
Château Figeac is classified “B” as Premier Grand Cru in Saint-Emilion appellation. The estate would be named after the Figeacus family who, in the 2nd century, settled where the actual Château is.
The estate's history started in the 15th century. Several owners succeeded each other and some of them sold plots which are now part of the Cheval Blanc vineyard. In 1892, the estate became the Manoncourt family’s property. Thierry Manoncourt, forerunner of the vineyard scientific approach, is behind the creation of the Figeac style.
Figeac’s nickname is “the most Medoc of the Saint-Emilion” because of its atypical grape varieties mainly composed of Cabernet.
The estate has 12 hectares of pasture, 100-year-old trees, as well as a large orchard, which is in favour of biodiversity and the development of pollinating insects.
