En primeurs 2024

Vision of the 2024 Vintage
“Vintage 2024 evokes the true taste of Bordeaux at its most authentic. Perfectly balanced ripeness, without excess, reminds us why the great Bordeaux wines we love remain timeless references.” – Château Giscours

Viticulture
Spring was very rainy and cool. However, the moisture was well managed in the vineyard thanks to the naturally draining Garonne gravel soils, which helped evacuate excess water. In contrast, summer was dry—one of the driest of the last 10 years. Temperatures in August supported excellent berry ripening.

Harvest
Harvest took place from September 19 to October 11, 2024, in sequential stages: Merlot from September 19 to 28, Cabernet Sauvignon from October 1 to 11, Cabernet Franc on October 3, and Petit Verdot on October 4.

Vinification
Once picked, the berries were sorted manually and using optical sorting. They were vinified in concrete and stainless steel vats and gently macerated at low temperature for 35 days at 28°C to encourage a slow extraction of fine tannins. Non-Saccharomyces yeasts were used before fermentation to preserve the purity and balance of the musts.

Aging
The wine is aged in French oak barrels, 50% of which are new, for 17 months.

Wine Profile
“Vintage 2024 captures the unique identity of Château Giscours with accuracy and finesse, offering a dense and flavorful Grand Vin driven by perfectly controlled tannic maturity. Its aromatic expression reveals deep black fruits uplifted by subtle floral notes. The remarkable balance between freshness and volume gives Château Giscours 2024 exceptional elegance and energy.” – Château Giscours
