CHATEAU SMITH HAUT LAFITTE, 2003

PESSAC-LÉOGNAN

"A beautiful expression of blackcurrant, plum, tobacco leaf, and spices, this 2003 vintage, with its dark plum/purple hue, offers soft, rounded cassis flavors. Medium to full-bodied, it has reached full maturity but shows no signs of decline and should remain at this plateau for another decade. While the 2003 doesn’t reach the perfect heights of the 2009 and 2010 vintages, it is undeniably a remarkable success in a vintage that didn’t favor Pessac-Léognan." – Robert Parker
