History and anecdotes
Le Château Smith Haut Lafitte est situé en Graves en appellation Pessac-Léognan. L’histoire du domaine commence il y a plus de 6 siècles en 1365 avec la noble famille du Bosq qui acquiert quelques vignes et donne le nom “Haut Lafitte”. Au XVIIIème siècle, un négociant écossais George Smith fait construire la chartreuse et nomme le château “Smith Haut Laffite”. Les vins rouges du château sont classés en Grand Cru. Depuis 1990, le château est la propriété de la famille Cathiard.
