History and anecdotes
Le Château Ducru-Beaucaillou est un 2nd Grand cru classé au classement de 1855 en appellation Saint-Julien. Il a été fondé il y a plus de 300 ans. A proximité de l’estuaire de la Gironde, il doit son nom à ses “beaux cailloux”, graves gunziennes charriés il y a plus de deux millions d’années par la Gironde. La famille Borie l’acquiert en 1941.
