CHATEAU LA FLEUR-PETRUS, 2009

POMEROL

" Although endowed with many youthful characteristics, this superb 2009 vintage, with its open and approachable style, is already very pleasant to taste. From a legendary terroir nestled between Pétrus and Lafleur (hence its name), this wine typically stands out for its elegant style. However, in 2009, it offers an additional dimension in terms of aromatic intensity, texture, and concentration. It unfolds an enchanting bouquet of mocha, damp earth, herbs, black cherries, cassis, truffles, and licorice. The palate is expansive, with a generous body and velvety tannins. The overall impression is of a wine combining intensity, power, glyceric richness, and undeniable elegance, with remarkable precision and purity. This 2009 can be enjoyed now or aged in the cellar for 25 to 30 years, or even longer. " - Robert Parker

History and anecdotes
Château La Fleur-Pétrus is one of the most renowned Pomerol vineyards. This historical estate with plots located in the localities of ‘Pétrus’ and ‘La Fleur’, was named after them in the 18th century. Jean-Pierre Moueix, who had been settled in Libourne since 1937, bought Château La Fleur-Pétrus in 1953.
