CHATEAU L'EVANGILE, 2008

POMEROL

“The 2006 [Evangile] matches perfectly the ageing empyreumatic notes and a fresh but discreet fruity. The attack is soft, the mid-palate is elegant, carried by well present but fine tannins, which have been carefully extracted.” - Le Guide Hachette des Vins

History and anecdotes

The Château l’Evangile history started in the middle of the 18th century, back then it was the Leglise family’s property. Château l’Evangile is located in the Pomerol plateau near Petrus and Château Cheval Blanc.

In 1868, the Cock Féret classification made it “Premier Cru of the Haut Pomerol”. In 1990, it belonged to Barons de Rothschild Lafite’s estates.

Éric de Rothschild, Saskia de Rothshild’s father, confessed to her he made two right decisions in his life: marrying her mother and buying L’Évangile.
