History and anecdotes
Château La Conseillante, located in Pomerol, has been the Nicolas family’s property for more than 150 years. The estate’s history started in the 18th century when Catherine Conseillan built the vineyard and gave it her name. It is one of the most famous estates, near Cheval Blanc and Petrus. The steady quality over the centuries makes its success.
La Conseillante marked a strategic milestone in the seventies when they integrated one of the first technological wine cellars of the region which enabled them to create more precise cuvées. In 2012, they built a plot-by-plot vat room in order to go further in the pursuit of excellence.

2021 VINTAGE | Chateau La Conseillante about the 2021 vintage: " We are pleased to release the 150th vintage of La Conseillante. To celebrate our anniversary, we are offering an engraved bottle that is slightly different from the traditional bottle, as well as a case (...) This vintage is very important for our family, both for its symbolism, proof of our roots and our attachment to this beautiful terroir, and for its remarkable quality in a contrasting vintage. In this context, the Pomerol appellation, and particularly its plateau, has shown a remarkable quality. Our teams are constantly working on the search for excellence with meticulousness in the vineyard and ever greater precision in the cellar. The excellent marks obtained by La Conseillante in this vintage confirm that the technical choices of these last years, guided by the respect of the environment and the terroir, make our vintage progress in the right direction.
