CHATEAU DUHART MILON, 2009

PAUILLAC

"A blend of 63% Cabernet Sauvignon and 37% Merlot, this wine exhibits an inky/blue/purple color along with a generous and sweet nose of crème de cassis, forest floor, licorice, pencil lead, cedar, and subtle barrel notes. Viscous and full-bodied, it represents the most concentrated and expansive example of this cuvée I have tasted in over three decades. It will be ready to drink in 5 to 7 years and should age gracefully for three decades or more. Wine enthusiasts looking for excellent value should consider Duhart Milon, which might well be the smartest purchase of this grand and historic vintage." - Robert Parker

History and anecdotes

The history of Château Duhart-Milon dates back to the early 18th century. Neighboring Château Lafite, the grapes from Château Duhart-Milon were once used in the production of Château Lafite's second wine. The Château was classified as a 4th Cru in the 1855 classification. Since 1962, Château Duhart-Milon has been owned by the Domaines Barons de Rothschild.
