CHATEAU DUHART MILON, 2001

PAUILLAC

"The Rothschilds are making enormous investments in this estate, and I therefore expect to see a remarkable effort emerge (perhaps the 2003 vintage is worthy of it). The 2001, with a deep ruby color, reveals a noble and moderately intense bouquet of graphite, plums, and blackcurrant. Elegant (in the style of Lafite), with a medium body, soft tannins, and a lively finish." - Robert Parker

History and anecdotes

The history of Château Duhart-Milon dates back to the early 18th century. Neighboring Château Lafite, the grapes from Château Duhart-Milon were once used in the production of Château Lafite's second wine. The Château was classified as a 4th Cru in the 1855 classification. Since 1962, Château Duhart-Milon has been owned by the Domaines Barons de Rothschild.
