History and anecdotes
The history of Château Nénin dates back several centuries. It was owned by the Demay family in the 18th century, then by the Paillet family in the 19th century, and finally by the Despujol family through marriage until 1997. At that time, Michel Delon (also owner of Château Léoville Las Cases) purchased the estate from his cousins and undertook significant work to improve the vineyard and facilities.
Château Nénin is a very large estate for the Pomerol appellation, with 32 hectares of vineyards.

2021 VINTAGE |
Château Nenin expresses itself on the 2021 vintage: "The 2021 vintage will remain of unprecedented complexity, both early and late. The gravelly terroir, particularly on the plateau, played its role perfectly, constraining the vine to refine the smooth ripeness of the Merlots and the intrinsic elegance of the Cabernet Francs. The Grand Vin of Château Nenin offers perfect balance, delicacy, freshness, and soft power, along with great aging potential." |
VITICULTURE |
The winter was mild and wet, causing premature but homogeneous budburst. The teams at Château Nenin successfully managed the capricious weather, and the vineyard was preserved until the end of summer. The phenolic ripening was slow but of very high quality and complete. The manual harvest began on September 25 and ended on October 4. |
VINIFICATION |
The vinification is traditional. It takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks for 12 to 20 days. The aging lasts for 18 months in barrels. |
