CHATEAU PICHON-LONGUEVILLE COMTESSE LALANDE, 2022

PRIMEURS - LIVRAISON 2025

"I love the aromatics here with botanicals as well as currants, blackberries and oranges. Full-bodied with incredible tannins that build on the palate with finesse and focus. Featherlight but always there. Stealth in structure. Very vertical. Savory. Superb. 78% cabernet sauvignon, 17% merlot and 5% cabernet franc." - James Suckling

CHARACTERISTICS

CLASSIFICATION 2nd Grand Cru Classé
GRAPE VARIETIES 78% cabernet sauvignon, 17% merlot, 5% cabernet franc
2022 VINTAGE A mild winter, with above-normal temperatures, favoured an early budburst in April. Thanks to its geographical position close to the estuary and the measures taken by the teams, the vineyard escaped the night frosts. Spring was warm and dry, with optimum flowering at the end of May. June was rainy, followed by hailstorms. Drought and heatwave set in in July, but the summer thunderstorms allowed the grapes to ripen properly.
AGEING The wine is aged in barrels for 18 months, 60% of which are new, with medium and long toasting. Racking is traditional.
FORMAT 75 cl
