CHATEAU MONTROSE, 2008

SAINT-ESTEPHE

" One of the superstars of the vintage, this classic Montrose isn't as showy or opulent as the 2010, 2009 or 2003, but it does boast a dense purple colour followed by gorgeous, sweet black raspberry and cassis fruit intermixed with loamy, earthy, forest floor notes; It has a dense purple colour followed by gorgeous sweet black raspberry and blackcurrant fruit intermixed with loamy, earthy and forest floor notes, a floral component and a long, full-bodied finish. The 2008 was made from yields of 44 hectolitres per hectare, slightly less than the 45 hectolitres per hectare of the 2010. Forget about it for 5-8 years and drink it for the next 20 or more.
