"The bouquet is extremely detailed, displaying more red fruit compared to the 2010 Montrose, which leans towards black fruit. Graphite and cedar appear over time, and even an unusual floral scent for this estate, while maintaining fantastic concentration and definition. The palate is medium-bodied with a hint of iron on the entry. Early signs of secondary notes (dried leaves and bay) are emerging, but it's the tannic backbone and precision that truly define this Montrose at the moment. Certainly, it is masculine and structured, but it has enormous potential—perhaps even more than was suggested at its release?" - Parker

Château Montrose, 2nd Grand Cru Classé in 1855, dominates the Gironde estuary, in the Saint-Estèphe appellation in Bordeaux. The château has 95 hectares of vines in a single block. The vines are planted on gravelly soil.
