CHATEAU LÉOVILLE LAS CASES, 2022

PRIMEURS - LIVRAISON 2025

"This shows no gravity. The tannins are totally melted in the wine and give it fantastic structure, but the texture is so fresh and vivid. Crushed stone. Cloves. Chinese spices. Great finish. Opening and flying away. Orange peel. Very special. Thought-provoking. Endless. " - James Suckling

RANKING 2nd Growth
GRAPE VARIETIES 83,5% cabernet sauvignon, 10,5% cabernet franc et 6% merlot
2022 VINTAGE The vines started to bud early after a mild winter. Spring was hot and dry, but rainfall from late May to late June kept the soil from drying out. These favourable weather conditions led to the formation of very ripe grapes. The harvest, which was carried out in several phases, enabled us to take full advantage of the ripeness of each parcel.

History and anecdotes
Until the 19th century, the Leoville estate, in Saint-Julien appellation (Medoc), was one of the largest crus. It was divided in three domains afterwards: Château Léoville Las Cases, Château Léoville Barton, Château Léoville Poyferré.Château Léoville Las Cases is made up of the three-fifths of the original estate and is the Las Cases family’s estate. Nowadays, Léoville Las Cases has been managed by the same family since the end of the 19th century. It is represented now by the single owner of the Château, Jean-Hubert Delon.
