"The 2005 Gazin is a powerful, masculine, and energetic Pomerol, closer in style to a Pauillac than some other Pomerols. Nevertheless, this wine is ready to be enjoyed, with its intense purple-plum color, astonishing concentration, abundant tannins, and unlimited potential. Notes of sweet blackcurrant, plum, vanilla, and truffle are followed by a dense, deep, and intense wine with aromas of blackcurrant and black cherry, high extraction, and a multi-layered texture. This is a long-aging wine, even for a 2005, and it will probably not reach its full maturity for another decade. It should easily keep for 30 years or more.
