History and anecdotes
If Calon refers to the boat used in the Middle Ages to transport wood from one bank of the Garonne to the other, Ségur comes from Marquis Nicolas-Alexandre de Ségur, who was also the owner of the Châteaux Lafite and Latour. “I make wine at Lafite and Latour, but my heart is at Calon,” he used to say. At the end of the 19th century, the Capbern-Gasqueton family acquired the estate, which was purchased in 2012 by the Arkéa group and its subsidiary Suravenir.
