CHATEAU LÉOVILLE LAS CASES, 2010

SAINT-JULIEN

" The aromas of this wine reveal a magnificent purity of raspberries, blueberries, redcurrants, and flowers, opening onto a full body with superbly integrated tannins and a texture similar to the finest silk. It unveils an elegant and refined fruity character, with the restraint and finesse of great vintages like 1989 and 1995. Its lively acidity brings a texture that is both crisp and creamy. This vintage contains a little more Cabernet Sauvignon in the blend than the 2009. Allow it at least six to eight years of bottle aging. " - James Suckling

History and anecdotes
Until the 19th century, the Leoville estate, in Saint-Julien appellation (Medoc), was one of the largest crus. It was divided in three domains afterwards: Château Léoville Las Cases, Château Léoville Barton, Château Léoville Poyferré.Château Léoville Las Cases is made up of the three-fifths of the original estate and is the Las Cases family’s estate. Nowadays, Léoville Las Cases has been managed by the same family since the end of the 19th century. It is represented now by the single owner of the Château, Jean-Hubert Delon.
