CHATEAU LAFITE ROTHSCHILD, 2005

PAUILLAC

" Beautiful and elegant red, blue, and black fruits (89% Cabernet Sauvignon and 11% Merlot), along with some notes of graphite and spices, leap from the glass of the Lafite Rothschild 2005. Medium-bodied, with superb purity and texture, this wine is by no means a “blockbuster,” but rather a meticulously crafted Pauillac with an exquisite texture. Long and pure, this wine should drink beautifully for 25 to 30 years. There is no risk in opening a bottle today. Drink between 2015 and 2045." - Robert Parker

History and anecdotes
The château located in Médoc, was classified as Premier Cru in the 1855 classification, in Pauillac appellation. The Château Lafite Rothschild history started in the 13th century.. Until the 17th century, the estate was a co-lordship whose co-owners received the rents from farmers who were cultivating the lands, some of which were already dedicated to the culture of vine. Between 1670 and 1680, Jacques de Ségure structured the vineyard. In 1868, Baron James de Rothschild acquired Château Lafite.
