History and anecdotes
Château d’Yquem is located on the left bank of the Garonne. The only soil that has been classified as Premier Cru Supérieur of Sauternes and Barsac in 1855, the first vines were planted in the 16th century. The estate was the Lur-Saluces family’s property for more than four centuries. Since 1999, Bernard Arnault has become the first shareholder. Y d’Yquem is a rare dry white wine with a high finesse.
