History and anecdotes
Pol Roger was founded by the Roger family in 1849 in Aÿ, and shortly afterwards the headquarter was set up in Epernay in 1951. This is one of the latest major independant and family Champagne Houses.
Pol Roger maintains a special relation with English people: Winston Churchill loved the house’s champagnes and after he met with Odette Pol Roger in 1944, they forged links. That is how the Winston Churchill cuvée was created in 1975 in order to commemorate the tenth anniversary of the passing of this great man.
