CHATEAU D'YQUEM, 2003

SAUTERNES

"Subtle and refined, with notes of lemon peel, vanilla cream, and dried pineapple. Very spicy and intense. Full-bodied, with great length and a richness of flavors. Electrifying yet refined, with moderate sweetness and a magnificent finish. I love the class of this wine and its length: it has 'afterburners.'" - James Suckling

History and anecdotes

The Château d’Yquem is located on the left bank of the Garonne. A unique terroir that was classified as Premier Cru Supérieur of Sauternes and Barsac in 1855, the first vines were planted in the 16th century. The property remained within the Lur-Saluces family for more than 4 centuries. Since 1999, Bernard Arnault has been the main shareholder.
