CHATEAU GISCOURS, 2022

PRIMEURS - LIVRAISON 2025

" This is a big move forward for Giscours. Full-bodied yet agile and fresh with tannins that are precise and integrated, with great beauty and length. Well-structured and vivid. Extremely fine yet defined tannins, and then it opens like a butterfly. " - James Suckling

CHARACTERISTICS

RANKING 3rd Growth A, Margaux
GRAPE VARIETIES 64% cabernet sauvignon, 30% merlot, 3% petit verdot et 1% cabernet franc
2022 VINTAGE The mild winter was followed by a particularly hot, dry spring and summer. Thanks to the knowledge and discipline of our teams, the health of the vineyard was preserved. The natural mulch from the plant cover played a crucial role in protecting the soil from the heat and helping to capture water from the summer storms to replenish the water reserves. Despite their small size, the concentrated berries successfully withstood the heatwave thanks to their deep roots.
WINEMAKING The harvest took place from the 1st to 29th of September. The grapes were sorted both optically and by hand. Vinification took place in concrete and stainless steel vats with a 35-day maceration at a constant temperature of 28°C.
AGEING The wine is aged for 17 months in French oak barrels (50% new).
FORMAT 75 cl
