The wine took on considerable weight each year I came back to taste it and this vintage was bottled earlier than average, precisely to give it more time to unwind and relax in the small confines of the bottle. Histoire et anecdotes
The Tenuta San Guido located in Tuscany was founded in the forties by the Marquis Incisa della Rochetta whose ambition was to produce a great wine equal to the great wines of Bordeaux. That is how the legendary Sassicaia wine was created through the “super tuscans” movement.The name of Sassicaia wine is a reflection of the Tenuta San Guido soil as it means “ground sprinkled with stones”.
