History and anecdotes
Founded in 1970, Opus One was established by Robert Mondavi and the Baron Philippe de Rothschild who wanted to create a great American wine from the Napa Valley with an equivalent quality to the Premiers Grands Crus of Bordeaux. On the bottle tag there is a blue drawing with the faces of Baron de Rothschild and Robert Mondavi, overhanging their signatures.
