CHATEAU CALON SEGUR
Calon means the small boat used in the Middle Ages to carry wood from a Garonne bank to the other, and Ségur comes from the Marquis Nicolas-Alexandre de Ségur, also owner of Châteaux Lafite and Latour. He liked saying: “I make wine in Lafite and Latour but my heart is in Calon”. At the end of the 19th century, the Capbern-Gasqueton family acquired the estate, and Suravenir, a subsidiary of Arkéa Group, bought it in 2012.
